Mr Smith Goes to Washington
I just watched this for the first time...good movie...very relevant to politics today without a doubt...although it has little of that old time Hollywood corniness to it!

1. When was that movie made?
I'm wondering if it was as much a political statement then as it would be if it came out today.

2. The movie came out in 1939 at the end of the depression.
Germany and the Third Reich were on people's minds of course too, but I don't think blatant corruption was, but maybe I am wrong...They should remake that movie for modern times...
