Um, are we sure it's August? (weather)
Past few days it's been in the mid/upper 70's - low 80's, with virtually no humidity. Think we even set some record lows at night. This is unheard of around here (Northern Virginia / DC Metro Area). Mid July to Mid August is usually the hottest part of the summer for us.

1. I'm in Connecticut and I have the windows closed. (And no A/C).
Up until Thursday, it was hot and humid as all get-out. Now it's so goddamned cool and windy, I had to shut the windows! Ahh, New England....

2. I'm in Central Florida
We have a *cold front* stalled over us! I've can't ever remember a cold front making it this far south in August. (It's not realy cold, mind you. Upper 80s as opposed to the mid-90s.)

4. It's been cooler in Oklahoma too.
Edited on Sun Aug-08-04 12:43 PM by bratcatinok
We've only had 3-4 100+ days which is not normal here in SW OK. At the end of July we had several days where our high was in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Not normal but it sure makes summer much more bearable and saves alot on electricity.

I hope it continues this way for awhile longer. I've never liked summer or the heat even though I was raised in Houston.

6. I hate this because I know it will get hot again...
It's been just as you described, here in NJ as well. I love this weather, love the fall/autumn, and hate the summer. Of course we know it's going to go back to annoying heat and humidity for at least 2 months more.

7. it's unusually dry in AZ (no, really)
The last few years, the summer monsoon season has been unusually dry. This summer is no exception. The winters have also been warm, with less buildup of snowpack. That's even worse, since most of the yearly water budget is from snowpack.

8. It's like autumn in Michigan today....
76 degrees at 2 p.m. It's been very cool all summer. Rarely has the temp gone over 80 to 85 degrees. We've only had three or four humid, uncomfortable says all summer long.

To top it off, there's a leaf fungus that has hit maple trees in this area...turns the leaves brown, they die and fall off. I've been raking leaves three to four times a week since I have 8 mature maples on in my yard.

It both feels and looks like October!

9. I love hot sunny weather, and I really hate what we've been getting
I feel like I'm a tree or something -- I need to store up sunshine during the summer if I'm going to get through the next winter. This year just hasn't done it for me. I'm happiest when it's in the 80's, and though I may gripe a little when it gets over 90, I'd much rather have that than highs of 72 in August.

I want my summer, dammit.

10. Even here in TX
we haven't hit enough triple-digit days for this to have been a true North Texas summer.

Our grass still has some green in it! That just ain't right!!!

11. Same in Iowa
Supposed to be cool all week again. Very odd for Iowa in August. Sure saves on the electric bill.

12. I don't think we made it out of the 60's
here in Buffalo yesterday. I don't mind the cooler weather in the fall, but this is summer, dammit! I at least want *some* summer weather this year!

14. Was just barely 80 yesterday
here in NC. I've enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and airing out the house. But, I'm not ready for fall yet. I want some more summer and sun. B-)

Bring on the heat!
