Unfortunately, my father and I didn't have a very good relationship. He was all about power, paranoia, control...and hating Bill Clinton.

Because of this, the grief process for me was really strange. I cried as he was actually breathing his last, but the next emotion I experienced was intense relief, then guilt and shame that I was relieved. It took years to process all the mixed emotions.

Man, it is so weird to hear you say those things, because that's exactly what I went through. My father wasn't so much about paranoia and control, but he did carry an enormous amount of anger in him, and in the final years of his life he was practically a parrot for Limbaugh and Gingrich, spouting hate and venom everywhere he went. I felt the same exact emotions you did after he died, and it took me years to get over them. My sympathies.

Some Democratic Party strategists definitely read DU. And the Republican 'Truth' Squad was supposedly surfing DU in their Boston War Room a couple weeks back.

Michael Moore would be stupid not to check us out, but I imagine his schedule must be packed. He doesn't have a link to DU on his site.

Any leftie radio talk show host that doesn't at least check out DU is missing out on a treasure trove of show prep. And any Party operative that doesn't read DU is really missing out on some good stuff.
