MMM Boca Meatless breakfast links
Had some this morning. No I'm not a vegan. Trying to lose some weight so I can't eat regular sausage. This is a good substitute. I was expecting it to taste like cardboard. Not the case.

1. Boca makes good stuff
The links are good, and so are the burgers.

2. What's in them?
I'm cutting back also but never heard of them. It seems every time I try substitute type foods I absolutely hate them.

3. Soy
They're not "meaty" tasting (and they even tout that), but they are good.

4. Second that! Mr Pcat the carnivore loves them.
That's an endorsement if I ever heard one.

We use Boca burgers for breakfast on busy days - nuke two, pop them in buns with a slice of cheese, some mustard and pickles, and grab a smoothy on our way to work.

5. really?
because every single damn time i try one of those things it tatses like ass.

but i'll give it a whirl. i'm trying very hard to tread much more lightly on the mother planet, and i'm to the point where i rarely eat red meat any more, and when i do it's either the expensive free range, vege fed stuff or locally grown by small producers that i trust. but i haven't found any of the meat substitutes that i can handle.

if only bacon were a vegetable...

6. yeah, me too...
I rarely eat meat, and will only eat fish if it has been raised/fished responsibly. I don't mind the concept of occasionally eating meat so much as I am very troubled by all the waste of food, the treatment of the animals while they are alive and the inhumane slaughterhouses. If humans could provide meat without it being such a horrible experience for the creature, I probably wouldn't object to the occasional steak or barbeque sandwich. As it is, I can't bear to eat any animal b/c the farming/slaughter is such an awful factory frightening experience for the animals.

8. Have you tried turkey bacon?
It's not as fatty as the pork stuff but every bit as crispy.
