...soaked in grain alcohol, so the fruit absorbs the alcohol. You then eat the fruit (and drink some of the fruit-flavored Everclear!)

Everclear and Welch's can be a Purple Jesus if Everclear is the only booze you have in the house and you don't have any grape Kool-Aid.

Of course, it could just be a regionalism. Everclear was illegal in Ohio when I was growing up, so we just used everything we had.
