I'm sick of on-line newpapers' registration processes
I'd like to read the article, but the registration process is time consuming. Once I do register, spam to my computer increases. By the time I ever see an article I want to read by the same paper again, either my CPU has changed, or my e-mail address, or I'm using a different password, and I have to start the process over again.

I don't register anymore.

Those of you posting articles on this site, thanks for filtering in as much of the nitty gritty as copyright rules will allow.

2. Me three!
Wow, that irritates me. I usually end up giving an old email address that no longer functions (ISP went belly-up years ago).

As long as I'm not purchasing a product, I see no need why the host needs to know my email address, other than to paste me with unwanted spam.

4. me five!
I don't even bother registering any more. If I want an article from the New York Times, for example, I will google (on Google News) the information and follow the link. That will bypass the registration page.

I don't think it works on most other sites, though. :-(

5. I Agree Wholeheartedly
I don't register anymore.

The only one I've maintain a cookie for is NYT, and I never need to login... it just automatically remembers who I am.

However... once I tried to register on the web site for Chicago's newspaper (Sun-Times?) and when I returned, my cookie was not recognized and my username password would not work.

SCREW THAT!!!

I don't register anymore for the VERY reasons you mentioned.

I will move on. If it's something important, then one of the other web sites will have it.
