King Kong Star Fay Wray, dead at 96
i just saw it again the other day, king kong. damn i've seen it maybe a hundred times since the first time, when i was about 8. i was at a party for a room full of screaming kids and we were all sort of watching it, sort of not. then when kong first appears out of the trees, and fay wray started in on her famous screaming, man o man, for a kid, it was real cinema terror.

c.b.s. just said that tomorrow night, the lights of the empire state building will be dimmed in her honor. she made over a hundred films, but king kong is her most famous, and her portrayal of sheer terror and panic, and the silver scream at her monstrous, hairy captor, are forever burned in the brains of all fans of early movies and horror fantasy movies in particular.

say hello to your tall dark and handsome leading man for us fay. we'll remember you fondly forever.

3. One of the last silent film actresses; she got her start in 1923
Now, I believe, we're just down to Anita Page and Diana "Baby Peggy Montgomery" Serra Cary.

I love Fay - RIP.
