Am I the last person in the world to see "Fahrenheit 9/11)?
I needed a vacation day and so decided to extend a weekend and goof off today.

To prove that I am not a complete slacker, I used the time to see a late morning showing of Michael Moore's much-acclaimed movie. I know that he is preaching to the choir with people like me, but that movie kicked ass. The mix of wit, sarcasm, pathos, bathos, truth, derring-do and cleverness kept the 13 people in the theater (and I am counting the four-week-old baby) cheering, laughing, crying and mesmerized.

The theater was in Evanston, IL, the multi-cultural home town of Northwestern University and a liberal bastion (despite its wealth) and so was anything but an (extremely small) cross-section of the American public. I especially enjoyed the treatment of the Afghanistan invasion with a "Bonanza" theme. At the opposite end of the spectrum, to see self-described "Conservative Democrat" Lila Lipscomb's reactions to her beloved son's death was incredibly moving.

And I bet a lot of people in the numbnuts regime are pissing their pants at some of the film clips Moore included -- primarily Wolfowitz wetting down the comb to pass through his greasy hair in his mouth, and *'s combination of smirks and looking totally at sea waiting to announce the bombing of Iraq had started.

2. I haven't seen it.
I despise movie theaters, and have seen perhaps four films in theaters in my 22 years on the planet.

3. Yes you are. Every other person on Earth has seen it.
Just kidding. I was calculating the box office totals and I'm guessing that probably only about 10 to 15 million people have seen it. We need to get the rest of America to the theater.

7. Haven't yet
My husband and I keep wanting to see it, but as babysitters in Chicago cost about $10/hr, we can't get out nearly as much as we'd like.

8. I haven't seen it either!
The local chain theater was supposed to carry it, but nothing yet. I'm pissed. It goes without saying I'll buy the DVD soon.

12. Ashamed to say I still haven't; damn
LIFE keeps getting in the way!

It is on my must-do list, though, hubby and I will make it a priority this weekend.

I would have seen it last night, but, I don't know, thought I'd attend the AWESOME northern Arizona KERRY RALLY instead!

Decisions, decisions...
