I hate the bank
I really do. Those fucks went and let Canada Student Loans withdrawl a payment from my account. I had less than a quarter of a payment in that account and I was going to just double up next month's payment because I had a lot of expenses this month. Now, I'm at minus in my bank account and those pricks have the nerve to charge me $5. I don't recall giving them permission to overdraft my account.

Mother fuckers...

1. Only $5?

I know it's a pain, but in the states, you'd be soaked for $25 at least once (usually two or three times before YOU figure out what's happening).

Plus, your loan people would probably hit you for an equivalent amount... that kind of bank miscue could easily cost you $100 here... exactly when you DON'T have it.

Another advantage of Canada over the US?

5. It's never the principle, it's always about money.
If they gave you ten but offered no apology, you'd be happy to let it go and you'd buy some beer with the ten.

4. Personally I prefer Canadian banks
Know what else Canadian banks don't do ( at least mine didn't )? Hit you with a $35 charge if your credit card payment is a day late.

6. Don't get me started on American banks
I get a Canadian check twice a month. When I deposit it they hold it until it clears...I have no problem with that. But they make me pay the exchange the day I deposit the check, even though the money from the check is frozen. In other words I have to maintain a balance of several hundred dollars to DEPOSIT a check, or I am overdrawn.
