5. I'm guessing
It's a last ditch media blitz to try to curb the downward spiral in sales. The Hummer will be on "I Love the 00's" in about 20 years on VH1. HAHAHA

6. Yes, I read that sales are down something like 27%....it's so
aggravating to see ads with them out in a wild area, with slo-mo, artsy
camera work as kids build box kites illuminated in the night sky with candles...........

The most environmentally silly vehicle sitting out there communing with nature.........what a load of crap!

7. I went to an air show this past weekend in Elkhart, IN.
They had two Hummers on display. One was the regular Hummer, for a mere $114,000. Ugly white thing. Didn't even bother with the MPG on the sticker, left it blank. The second was an H2, a little "nicer" looking, only $60,000. Why on earth anybody wants to drive one of those behemoths is beyond me.

(Elkhart is just a few miles from South Bend, where there is a Hummer plant.)

They planning on rolling out a Hummer H3 which is aroung $30,000.00 so though everyman can have one. Basically it's a piece of shit on wheels.

10. Sam Seder made a really sad commentary tonight on AAR
The government grants a tax break to people who buy these gas hogs, but fails to do so to promote the sale of fuel efficient hybrid vehicles.

Some energy policy we have 'eh?

13. Yep, they gave big write offs to people who can write off cars for
business expenses. The bigger and heavier the car the larger the write off. Why Bush did this, who would know? Hummer CEO gave him big bucks and so did GM and Ford, I guess.

15. Well, they're expensive, and rich folks are the only ones with money.
Everyone else is either laid off, worried about getting laid off, making low wages, desperately trying to make ends meet. Disposable income? What's that?
