Does anybody else have little physical coordination?
I have enough coordination to write legibly in small print; to play a round of golf and not lose quite so many balls (though never shoot below 120); I bowl pretty well; I'm almost impossible to make fall down; and I can do modern dance pretty well. I can solder small parts onto a circuit board and not make a mess. And of course, there's playing the violin and painting.

But, dammit, I can hardly ice skate or roller skate; I can't play baseball or softball worth a damn; and when it comes to basketball, fuckin' forget it. Even throwing crap in the trash can I hit it only about 25% of the time. And catching things that people throw to me? Unh unh. Doesn't happen very often. I can cross-country ski efficiently enough, but it will never be graceful. I'd never play hockey or lacrosse - I'd kill myself. Can't do soccer. Ping pong I'm pretty good, tennis is the shits. Volleyball works ok for me. Going up and down stairs I can do well enough, though I prefer to use a handrail for both.

What the fuck?

Sports geeks unite!!

and was taken to the ER (after standing completely still in the middle of the room, watching telly...and just falling over, resulting in a broken collarbone....x() for the like...6th time in my young life with a broken/fractured/lacerated something, the doctors told my parents, "You really might wanna think about enrolling this child in some sort of coordination building activity like ballet or gymnastics, lest social services get involved"...

I'm the only person I know who ever had a "prescription" for ballet. :D

(PS - No, my parents really weren't abusive, I was really just spastic. And yes, it was later found to be an inner ear issue. ;))

2. Yeah, checking in,
(sigh)

I went out for little league and managed to position myself right under a fly ball which hit me on top of my head ...

sports never really worked out for me.

I think that's why I like running. You do it alone and if you fall you injure only yourself (usually).

3. Glad I'm not the only one!
I was a great pitcher when we played softball in gym class - damned good, really - but that's about it. I pitched cuz I couldn't catch. Worked out well.

:-)

Oh, and though I wear glasses, for some reason I have to play sports without them - except golf - because if I have them on, I *always* get hit in the face with something.
