6. Straight vodka, and I've a good reason why:

One of my close relatives (an on again, off again lesbian, depending upon her current relationship w/ Jesus Christ), first became a lesbian after her second husband forced her to down a gallon of vodka, pre-Roe v. Wade, so that he could perform a coathanger abortion on her. Primitive medical tools call for primitve anesthesia, right?

She's one of the sweetest people I've ever known, and deserves a hell of a lot more from us than superstition and illegal abortions, even if she has currently "returned to Jesus."

those stories need to be shared. Those people who, even with good intentions, want to restrict abortion need to be made aware of what happens when safe, legal abortion is unavailable.
