What's one of your favorite films that's not out on DVD?
For me it's "Some Girls" with Patrick Dempsey and Jennifer Connelly.

1. "The Medusa Touch"
with Richard Burton. Great psychological thriller about a man who can destroy things just by looking at them. It's even out of print on VHS.

5. You sure that's not out?
At least not in a crappy version? I could've sworn I'd rented at the library a couple of years ago...

And I don't particularly like Katherine Hepburn -- so why is she in so many of my favorite movies ("The African Queen", and especially "The Lion in Winter")?

16. Pretty sure
I've never seen it and it's not available on DVD at Amazon.

And damn you, LOVE Katherine Hepburn!

6. Wow, been along time since I've seen that.
Do I get impatient and buy it on VHS, or do I wait for the DVD?

20. Go to WalMart/Target/Amazon... pick up a Philips 642 DVD player...
* Turn on player and open tray.
* On remote: 7-8-9-OK-0
* Power off

Power on.. the player will now play DVD from ANY region and
do a PERFECT PAL > NTSC conversion...

then order "Rosencranz and Guildenstern are Dead" from Amazon.co.uk
and enjoy

(I love my region-free equipment.. just got a box today with 'Brittas Empire' (series 1-4), 'Lovejoy' (series 1 and 2), 'Johnnathan Creek' (series 1 - 4), "Black Books" (series 1 and 2)", "One Foot in the Grave" (series 1), "Survivors" (series 1) and "Blake's 7" (series 1) - NONE of which are available over here...

4. "Funny Bones"
I haven't checked lately, but last I looked it wasn't available.

That, and I'm still not happy with the availability of Marx Brothers movies.

9. Out on DVD. I own it.
I bought under the guise of "buying it for my daughter," though I must confess that I seem to like it more than she does.

There's a cool-sounding techno version of the theme song available by a band called "Groove Coverage," BTW. The LAst Unicron with a beat.

8. The ORIGINAL "Blade Runner"
(NOT the director's cut). Also "Hearts of Darkness" (documentary of the making of "Apocalypse Now). And the original "Starwars" trilogy. :mad:

11. An expanded version comes out next month
WIth the original version and the Director's version both watchable on one of those special three-disc things. Personally, I liked the voice-overs, and the reason Brion James got cut wasn't because of the studio, it was because it was poorly acted.

And wasn't a happier ending tacked on?

In fact, some of the narration isn't even Ford--it's a sound-alike.

I'm no fanboy, but if I have kids I'd like to show them the good versions of those films.

14. GREEDO DIDN'T SHOOT FIRST!!!
There, I feel better just having said it.

I don't like to be clasified as a fanboy either (mostly I like the remake and epsiodes one and two), but I have an original bootleg from '79 that I still make my kid watch, just so she completely understands that Greedo does not shoot first. Neurotic, yes; fanboy, no.
