The White Cockatoo – "Australasia's premier nudist resort" – is angry at attempts by a Johnny-come-lately to muscle in on the nude business.

The Tropical Australia Naturism Association is advertising a nude family fun day at Pretty Beach on August 22.

But despite a series of posters advertising the event, locals can't find any evidence of TANA's existence, either on the Internet or in the phone book.

Tony Fox of the White Cockatoo has attacked TANA as "a bunch of idiots with no concept of reality".

Mr Fox, whose resort on private land boasts a three-and-a-half-star triple-A tourism rating, has devoted much of his time to convincing the council nudity is respectable.
