3. Be careful
I have had 2 cigarettes in 2 months, and my cravings hit hard still...takes about a year or two from what I understand-

4. WOOOOHOOOOO
Congratulations!

I know the feeling you describe. It's only hard to explain to people that have never experienced it. . . kind of like describing a Grateful Dead show to someone who's never been or describing sex to a virgin. . . no matter how much you talk, they don't quite get it until they experience it themselves.

:)

6. You must stay on guard forever.
The addiction is still there, just not the nicotine.

7. well, not forever!!
Just for a year or two. On Demman's first thread on this, I "drew" a picture of what it's like. The cravings gradually decrease until you never think of having a cigarette.

8. Now you must NEVER pick up a cigarette again...
Or you'll be right back where you were before you quit.

That's the attitude I take. I've quit a few times and I currently going on three years without a smoke.

Don't ever kid yourself that you can have a cigarette. I made that mistake too many times in the past.

10. It'll never ever be broken, just kept in check
Cigerette addiction is just like every other addiction (including my horrible addiction to process foods). YOu'll never be over it, but hopefully you'll get to a point that you'll keep it reigned in so you never ever go back to doing that again.

Congrats hun :loveya:

12. Congratulations!
I quit 6 years ago. At times, I'd smoke as much as 3 packs a day, but was about a pack and a half a day smoker. The first year was the hardest. I gained weight, but during the second year, it started to drop off quickly and I went down to my normal weight. Now, I have absolutely no desire for a cigarette, no cravings, and haven't for almost 5 years. It's wonderful not having to worry about buying cigarettes--I'd start jonesing when I'd have less than 10 in my pack. I can breath again!

Please keep up the good work. It is worth it!
