Coastal TexaFloriBamaLouisiSippians: two hurricanes on the way.
Both are tropical storms right now. Bonnie is in the Gulf right now, strengthening, and landfall is projected for Alabama to the Florida panhandle. Charley is about to enter the Gulf and is expected to be stronger than Bonnie. Where Charley will go is anyone's guess.

Here's the website I use to keep up with tropical storms and hurricanes:

1. Has anyone called Jerry Falwell yet to find out why God....
...is bringing down his wrath on these target areas?

21. You're supposed to call Pat Robertson and have him pray
He got God once to send a hurricane away from the east coast, or so he claims.

2. Bonnie looks like a big rainstorm, which is bad enough...
Charley looks a little more menacing. If it's a hurricane by the time it hits Tampico, then it'll probably gain strength in the gulf. :scared:

4. Yeah, Charley's the one that frightens me, too.
Bonnie will dump torrential rains, which we badly need.

Charley's going to a big one, I am afraid.

22. I remember when Fran came thru NC in 96
It came about a week after we got a whole lotta rain (another tropical system?).

It made it so much worse - the winds easily uprooted trees since the ground was so thoroughly soaked already.

Yuck!

We were hit hard on the middle of the Texas coast by Claudette last year.

I think a front system moving into Texas is going to push these east, but it really is too early to tell about Charley since it is so far away.

The storms are exciting, but expensive and dangerous. I believe two people were killed here by falling debris (head trauma) right after Claudette blew through.

Too bad they aren't named "Bonnie" and "Clyde".

5. Yes, they are exciting.
For me, it's not knowing where they will go or how strong they will be at landfall that makes them so exciting.

LOL@ Bonnie and Clyde. :-)

Tree fall is a sensitive topic with me. Our house was smashed, with us in it, by Bill.

8. S'posed to be a bad one, too.
If I recall correctly, the Gulf is supposed to be pelted by hurricanes this season, according to the "experts."

Gotta get my Pat O. hurricane glasses down and find my recipe for those sweet sweet sweet mixed drinks. :-)

But the damage was just as extensive. I have a feeling it could happen again this year.

11. yeah, I see 'em, thanks
June and July were so quiet that I guess we'll have to have them one right after another to get caught up -- it was supposed to be a "big" season. I wish they would just peter out, but I'm about to go out and start on some hurricane prep just in case.

16. Tracking charts have been updated
Bonnie's landfall expected Thursday morning, followed by Charley Friday evening. Looks like both will make landfall in Florida, but who knows, especially with Charley, since he's not even in the warm Gulf yet.
