Riding the storm again -- without Morrison
The Doors are trying to light a fire among audiences minus the Lizard King, and they don't care if people disapprove of their attempt to revive the group without Jim Morrison.

"I suppose there's always going to be those hardcore naysayers who believe that if it's not Jim Morrison, it's not the Doors," said Robby Krieger, one of two original band members in the new Doors.

"I don't really care what those people think," the 57-year-old guitarist added. "If they don't want to come to the show, they don't have to. It's not a problem. Believe me, those who have come to see us have loved it."

Krieger and Ray Manzarek, also an original member, formed the group again last fall, more than 30 years after Morrison's death in Paris.

They came out with 2 albums after Morrison; Other Voices is a great albums in its our right. (I don't know the history so I don't know if the songs were left-overs from Morrison. If not, these guys can make jamming music!

The second I've forgotten but it wasn't so bad either.

1. Morrison was... a very interesting individual

but in many ways he was little more than a high-profile Syd Barret, IMO.

Pink Floyd really took off after Barret fried completely. It probably could have been the same for The Doors, but unfortunately Morrison was just too much the centerpiece of the band. I don't think that's a good thing, when one member outshines all the others that way.

Another more recent example is when Genesis released the album "...Calling All Stations..." without Phil Collins but with a new lead vocalist. It was an excellent album in many ways, and most of the songs were written by Tony Banks as was the case while PC was still with the band. But, people basically ignored it because they didn't hear that familiar voice.

On edit: Very, not ver y.

2. I never liked Phil 'Puke' Collins. Peter Gabrial must have taught Phil but
it was never the same after Peter left. But the next 2 albums went too bad. Wind and Whethering (spelling) and ? what was the other? After those 2, puke. See can't you tell I'm an objective person? Phil has got to be one of our greatest heros to stand up to the GOP Crime Family and he's not even American. But then, maybe I hate, (Freudian hate), him because of the loss of real Genesis music. Nursery Crime, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, and the world's greatest music ever published The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway which I saw at the Chicago Auditorium.

Supers Ready:
'He's here in the den. Can't you see him? He's fooled you all. He's super sonic scientist he's a guaranteed enternal sanctuary man. The children who are lost down many paths will walk in my mouth he cried. There's an angel standing in sun. He's here to lead his children to the new Jeruselem.' paraphrase from LSD vacation. (PS. I don't think they were talking about Pat Robertson!)

I don't think there are any words in music in the last 20 years.
