Sorry.... I know people think they're the Beatles, Elvis and Sinatra all wrapped up in one package. But mega-feh.

You're a rock star. Stop whining. SING, dammit.

6. I know, I know...
people just love that band for reasons I can't understand.

I've tried. I bought three of their CD's. I've listened to 'em. But sweet jesus in a sling, take a clue from Cobain. If all you can do is whine, off yourself.

"Amnesiac," but their other CDs are just, well, OK. But the two I like of theirs ROCK!

34. You're kidding, right?
The Bends and Pablo Honey - their only albums released before 1996 - are their weakest by far. Pablo Honey was like every other "album" of the decade: one good track and filler around it.

The Bends is a little better and shows some major improvement in composition, but Radiohead fully matured as a great musical group with OK Computer and Kid A (and, to a lesser extent, Amnesiac, all were released after 1997.

35. That's how I see it as well
I have both The Bends and Pablo Honey, and liked both, but wasn't raving over them yet. When OK Computer came out, I liked them more, but it was Kid A that floored me.

REM does possess an amazing ability to outsuck each album in a proportionate manner.

It's all been downhill since "Automatic For The People," if you ask me. Not that ya did. :D

Actually, they are a bit whiney at times, and their newer stuff isn't so great, but I love OK Computer and The Bends.

33. His vocal range beats 99.975% of what's out there mainstream
The composition talent of Radiohead is unmatched today by other "mainstream bands." I have a real hard time with people who say that Radiohead is not amazingly gifted musically.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Kid A is the best label album released since Houses of the Holy. Okay, maybe not that extreme - but definitely the best album of the 90s.

40. Hmmm...a British pop group "whiney"? - I don't understand.
Okay, see if you can understand this:

England is a tiny island in the middle of the fucking Atlantic Ocean, where it rains every other day, has five TV stations, and gourmet cuisine consists of fried Mars bars and sheep brains on white toast.

All the beaches are made of pointy rocks instead of sand.

Most inhabitants' jaws are too small for their teeth.

In one generation, they've gone from being the dominant Empire on the globe to a marginalised colony of their own former colonies, and the most cheerful celebrity they've ever exported has been Morrissey.

Their beer is served warm.

They're still paying outstanding bills from Wold War 1.

The only cars they manufacture which don't break every day cost over $100,000.

They are ruled by a useless, inbred monarchy of foreigners, who owns 60% of the arable land in the Kingdom, and who's only likable member was senselessly killed by a drunk driver, in FRANCE of all places.

And they're not supposed to whine, why?!

And how do I know this? Because I. Am. British.

41. They wrote exactly one (ONE) great song: "Electioneering."
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 06:49 PM by RandomKoolzip
Everything else is unrocking, glacial, muffled and uncommunicative. And frankly, pretty damn dull. I really don't get the appeal of music so introverted and stilted. Look up "overrated" in the dictionary, and there's a picture of Yorke, Greenwood, et. al. This generation's Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

But if ALL their songs rocked like "Electioneering," they'd be the best band on the planet.

On edit: And I bet that most rabid Radiohead fans don't like that song very much.
