Red House Painters
Any fans on here? Has anyone heard Mark M.'s latest band, Sun Kil Moon?

I love RHP so much. One of my favorite bands. For some reason they remind me of fall/autumn since I think that's when I first heard them and listened to them non-stop for the first 6 months I was into them. Recently with the spate of chillier weather here, my RHP jones kicked in.

1. Woah, I almost missed this post.
I'm definitely becoming a fan. I recently bought their CD "Old Ramon" and I love it. Unfortunately, I've kinda got stuck on the song "Void" but I do intend to check out more of their stuff. What do you recommend? Do any of their other CDs have any songs on them with that slow, mellow vibe that "Void" has?

2. Well, here's the thing.....
Since they have about 4 cds all with different songs, all self-titled, it's hard to give album names.

But the album Songs For A Blue Guitar is mostly solo Mark Kozalek stuff but under the RHP name. It's very mellow and very beautiful.

But any of the albums that have these songs on them are phenomenal:
New Jersey
Mistress
Grace Cathedral Park
Katy Song
Summer Dress
San Geronimo

4. They also have some great cover tunes....
Their version of All Mixed Up by The Cars is just the most haunting thing you'll ever here.

They also have great versions of everything from Paul McCartney's Silly Love Songs, Shock Me by Kiss, Long Distance Runaround by Yes, and several AC/DC songs all done in the RHP style.

6. Mostly different cd's..
The Paul McCartney and Yes covers are on Songs For A Blue Guitar. The AC/DC covers is one disc, titled "Rock and Roll Singer".

Not sure about All Mixed up or Shock Me.
