Police Arrest Man For Beheading Mother

MADRID (Reuters) - Spanish police have arrested a man on suspicion of killing and decapitating his own mother, state radio reported.

The headless body of the woman, in her 80s, was found by another son in the village of Vadocondes, some 125 miles north of Madrid.

The suspect, a 50-year-old agricultural worker, was detained a few hours later. Police are still searching for the head.

"He strangled his mother and then went off in his car, taking her head with him," a female neighbor told state radio.

Police in the regional capital Soria declined to comment on Tuesday.
