I volunteered for my local Democratic canidate for the House today

He's going up against a Republican incumbent who was a "moderate" when he ran, but now has turned into a full blown Bush zombie, except when it comes to contriversial votes....then he runs and hides.

I do have high hopes only because Illinois is going to be so heavly Democratic this year, so I thought I'd help out.

2. Good! That's where it matters most

It's easier to have an impact at the local and state level than just working to get Kerry elected. This could be a landslide year for Democrats in Illinois so even getting incumbents like your Congressman isn't impossible.

4. yep, especially in this race,

getting rid of Kirk would be a milestone. This district has been Republican for a long time, even though there is a large Jewish population. So I think this is the year to have it go Democratic.
