All caps in internet land...what does it mean
I got an email yesterday that included many reprimands in all caps. I was pissed because I read it as someone shouting at me not as someone trying to emphasize their point. After re-reading, I'm fairly convinced she meant emphasis rather than shouting. So...what does it mean when you use all caps? I think it means shouting.

on edit: this is considered to be rude.

2. Being a chat moderator...
Most freepers will use all capitals. I don't know what the reason for that trend is, but I can tell you... I've never seen a liberal use all capitals in a chat room. Never.

4. maybe it's easier to read
big capital letters. They haven't figured out to increase font size.

6. No, most was in regular font size
Many points were in all caps. I was shocked when I read the email. I didn't expect that response. It wasn't an argument at all.

3. Screaming...UNLESS ....
You are using them to make an obvious emphasis such as:

"I could have stopped for Gas before I ran out but NOOOOOO!"

5. I didn't know it meant shouting until a year or so ago.
So, this person is very politically active but is older. How should I respond? As someone explaining what it all caps means or as someone who is offende at her shouting at me?
