86th PGA Championship-7,514 yards long
John Feinstein on NPR this morning said the driving directions to Whistling Straits should be "drive to the middle of nowhere, take a left, and keep driving for a while"

Check out the logo (some pretty detailed info below too)

1. Everyone knows golf is meant to be played with Frisbees!
And the PDGA Worlds is going on all this week!

The 2004 PDGA World Championships shifts gears two days into individual competition as players start to note whether they are here for “the experience” or “to contend”. Up to now the largest fields were grouped into multiple “pools” because they can't all fit on one course at the same time. After the first two days of competition, the pools are regrouped from top to bottom. It is known as the “Big Shuffle” and it is the busiest evening of the week at scorekeeping central. It was a late evening but you can see the results by clicking on the links on the front page at www.pdga.com

I just can't fathom those freaks who play golf with little white balls.

Play with my little white balls, or play with a Frisbee?

2. The good news: 18 will drive you to drink...

Looks like one of those joke golf calendars ("World's Most Difficult Golf Courses"), except its real. The part of the green where the pin is looks to be about 3 feet wide. Masochists.

No worries, right GOPisEvil? :D

7. "Correct me if I'm wrong Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers..."

...they'll lock me up and throw away the key. "

Sandy: "Not golfers, you great fool. Gophers. THE LITTLE BROWN, FURRY RODENTS. "

Carl: "We can do that. We don't even need a reason. "

3. I know
I live about a hour away from Kohler, WI and my friends dad played that course. He said he never had such a hard game of golf in his life and he is a 2-time local tourney winner. I was thinking about going, but I can't afford the $85 a day ticket.

9. Actually, You'd Take A Right
So, Feinstein was wrong. The course is just north of Sheboygan and Kohler, on the lake side of I-94.

I've seen the pix of the layout from a guy who works for Chicagoland golf.

If the wind blows we could BUNCHES of rounds in the 80's. And, then we'll hear LOTS of whining.

10. Tiger, Tiger
Still very very early but with 72 golfers on the course Tiger is tied 65th at 2 over.

Choi leading at 6 under after 5 holes with birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie and an eagle. How's that for a start?
