2,800 miles round trip; 8 days ....
Some things I learned.

Anybody who willingly travels in Tallahassee rush hour traffic has a death wish.

I'm told that Nashville has a beautiful skyline but I wouldn't know because I was paying attention to bumper-to-bumper traffic at 75 mph.

My son's probable future Mother-in-law is a Republican.

There are so many construction zones that I have come to the conclusion that America will be a very nice place when they finish it.

Cognitive dissonance occurs when another driver cuts you off, comes to a sudden stop in front of you, you start to swear at him and discover he has a Leave No Billionaire Behind bumper sticker.

Brake rotars warp in high temperatures and cost $480 to replace.

Northern Alabama is really pretty.

Semi-trailer truck drivers are like vampires: they tend to swarm after the sun goes down.

Graduation ceremonies are a pain.

Apparently all Cadillacs, Jaguars, BMW and Lexus' come standard with Bush/Cheney Bumper stickers.

It's good to be back in Wisconsin.......but I wouldn't have missed this trip for anything.

1. What's wrong with the way we drive in Nashville?
Would you rather be bumper to bumper on the interstate going 20 mph?

2. LOL
True.....

Remember, I'm used to Central Wisconsin....I guess I'm just not accustomed to Life in the Fast Lane.

3. Lucky you, e!
Glad your trip was an interesting experience!

What part of central Wisconsin? we visited a couple years ago and loved it! The beautiful green rolling hills and fields, and stately old farmhouses and barns...and Madison was fantastic!!

Both halves of my dad's family settled in Wisconsin- grandmother was from New Holstein (Calumet County), and grandfather moved from Finger Lakes New York region to Rock County (Beloit, Clinton, Turtle) and Rockford, Illinois.

I would love to get the HE(double hockey sticks) out of Texas.

4. We are
about 35 miles west of Wausau.......sort of boring area compared to the rest of the state.......

but......

When we got home yesterday afternoon ( around 2:30 PM) it was 55 degrees........when we went through Montgomery Al on the way down, the thermomitor reading in the car was 101 degrees and the bank clocks were showing 103 degrees.....that big Wisconsin air conditioner was really refreshing!

5. We were there in July...
and the wonderful cool balmy breezes were literally "a breath of fresh air" for us.

We stayed at the Canterbury Inn in Madison, and a pastoral little spot down near Lake Geneva, and summer there felt like October here in Dallas. Sure was a nice place to be during our usual "blast furnace" time!

We're actually enjoying some wonderfully cool temperatures right now. In August, that's practicalyl unheard of!

Glad you're back safe and sound and that your encounters with big city traffic weren't too traumatic for you!
:D
