Favorite album of the 80's?
Your *Favorite*

NOT from a critical standpoint. Strictly from an emotional standpoint.

The one you listened to so much that you wore the cassette out. The one you replaced the second cassette with a CD. The one you still own today. The one you occasionally play when life gets cruel & brutal and you need to curl up & escape to a simpler, easier time.

Please share. I have 2 two:

10,000 Maniacs "In My Tribe"

Erasure "The Innocents"

14. Talking Heads 'Little Creatures"
Also, the sound track from 'Stop Making Sense', but you have to dub it from the movie instead of buying the sound track album, or there will be some great stuff missing.

19. My only complaint with the soundtrack to Stop Making Sense...
I saw the tour it was recorded at, and all the songs were like double length, as the band just jammed the hell out of all the songs...when the movie came out, I was disappointed, because the jams weren't in the film...

Oh well, it's still an amazing movie, and a good record of still one of my favorite all time shows...

22. So many good ones to choose from
Sting-The Dream of the Blue Turtles. I hate the rest of his solo stuff, but this one is awesome.

Talking Heads-Little Creatures

Don Henley-The End Of The Innocence

GNR-Appetite For Destruction

Queensryche-all of the 80s albumns, but "Operation: Mindcrime" has some great operatic vocals, even if if is one of those weird concept albums.

Prince-Purple Rain

The incredible emotional impact this music can still have on me is amazing.

Combine the energy of rock with the evocative tones of Scottish folk music....

Best Tracks: Lost Patrol, Fields of Fire, 1000 Stars

Hell, I think I'll go put that CD on right now.

40. My favorites (in vaguely chronological order)
George Strait: Strait Country
Hall and Oates: Private Eyes
The Replacements: Let It Be
Def Leppard: Hysteria
Soul Asylum: Hang Time

What these say about me and my taste (or lack thereof) in music, I'm still not exactly sure... :-)
