such a strange, strange person.

I don't know that I can judge album art solely on the art... I can't help connecting the music to it. That being said, here's my fave. :)

21. Bob Crumb created the cover for our college lit mag...
....back when he was just getting started. When we met to discuss it, he had a sharpened pencil in his shirt pocket. Always ready, I guess!

And that's one of my favorite album covers, too! We have it tucked away with other albums. I sure miss the giant sized covers.

33. I think the cover to "London Calling" is great as it really captures
the energy of that band and that album. I'm also a big fan of the cover to "Their Satanic Majesties" and "Bitches Brew".

Is there any more subjective topic than this one?

52. The London Calling cover was sort of a"tribute" to Elvis Presley
Elvis' first RCA album looked like this.....

And the Clash.......

Both excellent album covers BTW.

As far as Stones album covers go, Satanic Majesties and Sticky Fingers were both great for their "special effects". Big Hits Vol 2 was great in that it was an octagonal cover (i.e. the corners cut off) but my favorite Stones album cover of all time has to be....

The original cover was quickly pulled from distribution when some of the actresses pictured on the cover took exception to being pictured with the Stones. Or maybe pictured wearing wigs??

This was a pic they found in a photo album at a yard sale or something. Apparently, the man in the photo, who is now born-again, threatened to sue if they didn't remove the photo from the cover.

Sorry for the pic quality, it was the only one I could find.
