1. Wasn't there one w/Jill Ireland where she bought him ...
off the hanging gallows to work for her and then, of course, they fell in love?

That was Goin' South, with Jack Nicholson and Mary Steenburgen.

11. That was from Noon to Three.
Hilarious. They have this tawdry moment and she
makes it into a 'romance of the century'. He
busts out of prison and comes back but no one
believes a broken down bandito could be this
Fabio creation of the media. She's become this
glorious woman who missed her fabulous love
affair and its HYSTERICAL.

I recommend it.

2. 'The Great Escape
Edited on Mon Sep-01-03 04:35 PM by JohnKleeb
BTW someone said when we were talking about Charles, this was before he died btw about how him and Dennis Kucinich look a bit alike. I can see a bit of resemblance. Why the great escape, only Bronson film I have seen and I loved it. I loved the main theme, its so addicting and I liked his character Danny the Tunnel King and was happy to see him escape with Willie, they were the only ones not caught. No on edit, Sedgwick made it out too.

rejects the vigilante actions of the protagonist, there is also a darker atavistic impulse which is satisfied. "Once Upon A time In The West", "The Mechanic", and "The Dirty Dozen" are also very good movies.

7. wholeheartedly agree
Yes, I feel as you do But more at the end of Once Upon a Time than in Death Wish. No act of revenge in any movie can get me stirred up like that.

At the same time it does nothing for 'Harmonica.' Just what he had to do.

5. a Twilight Zone episode
that he starred in with Elizabeth Mongomery about two soldiers who live through a nuclear war and they must learn to trust each other. I also liked him in this HBO movie (don't remember the title) about a union boss who was murdered with his wife & daughter when he tried to bring reforms.

9. I guess we didn't bring enough horses
OK, Once Upon a Time in the West was very good (hell, great), but the definitive Chuck Bronson is Deathwish.

10. I STILL wish I could break a glass
like he did with his ring and pinky fingers like he did in "The Mechanic." I tried it once. Much hilarity ensued when I got my fingers stuck in the glass.

12. Do you remember when he jumped from the floor to a
waist high table from a standing start? Incredible. I loved
him.

13. I don't remember that one in particular, to be honest...
...but I remember that he was always the soft-spoken, low-key person that you just don't **** around with.

14. Hard TImes
One of the most underrated and under-aired Guy Flicks of all time. Bronson and Coburn in the leads, and great character roles for Michael Maguire, Bruce Glover, Strother Martin, and Robert Tessier.
