So, what are everybody's plans for the weekend. I'm going to try to get caught up around the house on Saturday and then Sunday I think I'm going to do a century ride.

5. Good question
A century ride is a 100-mile bicycle ride. This is an organized one on rural roads and there are rest stops about every 25 miles and support vehicles available if you have any problems.

This will be my fourth one this season and I have two more scheduled. For me, it's not a race, more of a test of endurance. My times are improving and I can do it now in about 6 1/2 - 7 hours if you include rest stops.

Perhaps an even better question would be why?

2. Hi PU!
I just aired up my tires last night, but a century ride? I haven't done that since I was 16-18. Ouch!

7. Not PU,
it's giving me grade school flashbacks and I'm afraid you're going to tell me I stink. :P Proles is good.

I doesn't hurt if your bike and saddle are a good fit for your body. Plus, I'm in pretty good shape. I just finished RAGBRAI (ride across Iowa) which was 520 miles in a week. I even wedged a century in between two 70 or so mile days. I will admit that that was kind of painful. :-)
