5. Who?
Seriously, I've never heard of him. I don't watch much late night television.

6. Never liked that asshole.
He's like an Ivy League-looking version of Dennis Miller. I could never get to the TV fast enough to change the channel to Conan O'Brien.

15. Same here. We'd scream "change the channel"
when Kilborn came on. Much prefer Conan, even if it's a rerun.

18. I say we give him a good sendoff...
...by making this an Olympic competition. Who can grab the remote the fastest and change the image on the TV from Kilbourne's smug mug to O'Brien's puffy hair.

8. IMHO he's not talentless...
and don't forget that he was the host of the Daily Show before John Stewart took over.

I hope he gets another gig....a little earlier in the evenings

9. He'd be perfect back at ESPN
I always thought sportscasting was his forte. Hire Hal Sparks to fill his spot.

16. Well You Know What They Say About Opinions
I am like the other who couldn't change the channel fast enough when i heard that sucky intro music and heard his annoying voice.

But sorry if his leaving isn't good for you. Taste is a relative thing

19. before the daily show was good
it was a great idea that kilborn couldn't handle because of his lack of talent or smarts. John Stewart came along and immediately got it and made it 100 times better.

he should be smart enough and not put it on his resume - any comparison to Stewart is deadly to that thingy.

10. I like Craig Kilborn.

Perhaps it's a Minnesota thing. ;)

Sounds like it was his decision.

A CBS spokesman confirmed late Thursday that Kilborn had informed the network that he would not seek a renewal of his contract, which is believed to expire this year. The spokesman declined to elaborate.

...

During Kilborn's tenure, "Late, Late Show" has been a steady performer for CBS, though it has consistently run second in the time slot to NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."

And, my Irish thang always supercedes my MN thang. :P

14. Does anyone know the real story about his brush-up with Liz Winstead?
I remember when she left 'The Daily Show' and was really annoyed by it. I loved when she did the movie reviews with Frank DiCaro, they cracked me up!

26. He made a remark in an interview
Instead of my paraphrasing, here's an article about it:

http://www.rotten.com/library/culture/daily-show/

It's about a third of the way down the article. Yeah, I know -- it's Rotten.com. The pop culture articles on the site are actually pretty good, though.

Ariana Huffington. Wishful thinking here....

23. Maher has his own show on HBO
Ron Reagan is under contract with NBC
Arianna Huffington would suck in that type of format.

They should just have some up and coming comic or writer (like NBC did with Conan when Letterman bolted) take over, or someone like Steve Carell.

24. At least he made a Todd Rundgren reference!
"And now it's time for: Craig combs his eyebrows to 'Hello, It's Me' by Todd Rundgren."

Of course, Letterman has Todd on every chance he gets, so Letterman wins.
