Instant Karma came and got me -- A warning: Never skip a Kerry rally!
Edited on Fri Aug-13-04 01:47 PM by HuckleB
So, I decided to skip the Kerry festivities downtown (Portland) today, as I argued that a bike ride was more necessary to my inner well being, especially since I'm off to Seattle for a weekend of baseball, drinking and eating.

Well, let me tell you, it wasn't worth it. Oh, sure, the ride itself was wonderful, what with it being a beautiful day and my chosen route had me enjoying a view of the Columbia and Mt. Hood as I rode west. Alas, one must turn around and head back, leaving me with only a view of the river. Poor, poor me, I know. :eyes: But that's not the half of it. Near the end of my time riding along the river I passed the Portland Airport, just in time to see the Cabbagehead in Chief land in Air Force One, for his closed-to-the-public proceedings later today.

I stopped. Stunned. Mumbling things like "you fuckhead, dickhead, mofo, blah blah blah" to myself but wishing he* could hear every word, despite the lack of maturity involved in said statements. I thought about flipping him off, but then thought better of it, as I convinced myself that it would be too typical. Finally, I'd realized that it was all my fault, and that the bozo in the Guinness cycling outfit on a cheap road bike, who was just meandering back and forth by the boat ramp was probably secret service, or so I wanted to believe in order to add to the story.

Ah, shit. That's what I get. Sorry, Senator Kerry. It'll never happen again.

But, hey, I tell you this much. I didn't fall off my bike, not once.

:)
