1. Is it being broadcast?
Displaced New England fans in CA want to know.

6. It's being broadcast on the ABC affiliate here
but I don't know if it's national. Find a sports bar with a satellite feed. You should be able to get it.

26. Pray that its not broadcast in Pittsburgh.
Or I'll put my hex on thee.

By wiggling my fingers at the screen.

How do you think your team sucked in 2002?

HOUSTON -- In his Oscar-winning performance as the blind but prescient Col. Frank Slade in "Scent of a Woman," actor Al Pacino suggested to moviegoers that there is no prosthesis for an amputated spirit.

It was, hoo-ha, one of the most poignant, even if inexplicably unheralded, lines of recent cinema. It is also a line, and perhaps a snippet of celluloid, Miami Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt, embattled even before his team's run of preposterous misfortune, might consider showing to his stricken team.

Why so? Because losing players, particularly those the caliber of retired tailback Ricky Williams and injured wide receiver David Boston, is plenty bad enough. But once a team collectively abdicates its will, and begins questioning whether it can viably compete, that is typically the beginning of the end.

"We've really got to guard against that, especially with the younger guys, because you don't want to fall into a kind of mindset where you're just feeling sorry for yourself," acknowledged middle linebacker Zach Thomas, himself sidelined by knee surgery that could keep him off the field the entire preseason. "I've never seen anything like this. But you have to keep moving forward. There's nothing else you can do. No one else is going to feel sorry for us and no one else is going to help us. Whatever the answers are, we're going to have to find them inside our own locker room."

P.S. The Patriots went 17-2 to win their second title last year. If the other teams have 'figured us out,' they sure as shit didn't do much with the knowledge.

:)

15. Dude...I'm telling you
it's just like figuring out a pitcher who wins in the first go around. Adjustments happen all the time in football and the Pat's simply do not have the superstars to overcome that nor the Coach... It's cyclical and the schemes have been designed to stop the Pat's.... You'll see.

He's the best coach on the planet, with the best team in the game.

18. disagree.... You can only squeeze so much out of players
and I think the Pat's are squeezed out.

20. ...and you base that on something besides wishful thinking?
Tom Brady with a running game. Ty Law and that defense. I think you're grasping at shadows, homeboy.

21. Miami is DONE. It's the Jets who worry me now.
The Jets have a healthy Chad Pennington, a decent, although aging running back in Curtis Martin, and with Moss & McCareins, a pretty good 1-2 punch at WR.

I think they're playoff material if their defense shows any backbone.

8. Patriots regular season predictions?
Indy @ Pats - Pats 1-0
Pats @ Az - Pats 2-0
Pats @ Buf - Pats 3-0
Mia @ Pats - Pats 4-0
Sea @ Pats - Pats 5-0
NYj @ Pats - Pats 6-0
Pats @ Pit - Pats 7-0
Pats @ STL - Pats 8-0
Buf @ Pats - Pats 9-0
Pats @ KC - KC 9-1
Bal @ Pats - Pats 10-1
Pats @ Cle - Pats 11-1
Cin @ Pats - Pats 12-1
Pats @ Mia - Pats 13-1
Pats @ NYj - NYj - 13-2
SF @ Pats - Pats 14-2

Final 14-2

And I'm being pessimistic. Looking at that schedule it is conceivable they could run the table. Division opponents suck. Jets might be better if Pennington is good again, NFC opponents suck, Seattle might be tough but it's at home. AFC opponents are tougher, the only reason I'm giving the KC game is because it is in KC but their defense sucks The Pats own Indy and Pittsburg, Baltimore is on a down turn and have no offense, cincy is cincy. worst case the Pats go 12-4 and that's is only because "on any given Sunday..." They could win out.

11. Indy is going to be tough this year
One of these seasons, Manning is going to figure out how to beat us. Might be this one.

12. Not a chance. After the beating Manning took in the playoffs
they are now officially in his head. No way he has the courage to throw anywhere near Ty Law. Also this game is at home on a Thursday night (national game) in a stadium the pats haven't lost in in over a year with a crowd seeing the first regular season game after a superbowl win. There is NO way the Pats lose this game. Belichick will have the entire pre-season to prepare for this one AND they have a legitimate running back.

19. Oh, this'll be good.
I will watch the first two possessions with great interest. Then after that, it's the Rohan Davey & Chas Gessner show.

I expect I'll click over to the Olympics Opening Ceremonies once the 2nd team comes in.

22. Sorry Will, but your Patsies are just going to be another stepping stone
For the Chiefs on their road to the championship. All the elements of the number one offense are back, and defensive genius Gunther Cunningham is back calling the shots. Even if the Chiefs go from the 29th D to the 19th defense, that is more than enough to win it all.

The regular season game at home will be but a preview friend, we'll see you at the AFC championship.

23. Geaux Patriots.......
they have become my second favorite team since they became LSU North. I think the team is about twenty percent former LSU players at this point. Plus Bellichek (sp?) is one of Saban's best friends.

You guys have put together a great front office. I would be surprised if you don't win it again.
