in Normandy, France, they just wouldn´t shut the fuck up. It was a wonderfully moving ceremony, the best D-Day commemoration I´d ever seen, and the goddamn clueless dumbass pundits who probably didn´t even have a clue as to what it all really meant anyway just would NOT SHUT THE HELL UP! Even during the speeches, it was unbelievable.

Then, of course, they had to cut away for all of the Raygun bullshit, since he´d just died the night before. Now THAT was the REAL insult, as far as I´m concerned. Even during the parade of veterans, many of them in wheelchairs, they just wouldn´t shut the fuck up, I couldn´t believe it.

First, we got to watch it live. They are going to replay it again in primetime.

Second, they give the explanation from the program guide, but not much more. It is truly an American thing to explain the obvious on TV. During the parade of nations, (after the Canadians were in,) they did call a few atheletes on cell phones to ask them about the experience.

I remember when Princess Diana died, I watched her funeral on Canadian TV and American. Moment of Silence (Canadian Version) - "There will now be a minute of silence" followed by... silence with suitable pictures. (American Version) - "There will now be a moment of silence. This is done to honour Princess Di. It is a time to reflect on what she meant to everyone. The things she contributed to society, fashion yada, yada, yada... We will now end the moment of silence."

Last year she was reporting on a freak drowning accident in Lake Erie where a very strong under tow carried 5 or 6 kids in their late teens out into the lake, where they drowned.

They hadn't recovered the bodies yet, and Ann Curry was interviewing the father of one of the victims and actually asked him if he was holding out any hope that they could have washed up on an island and were still alive.

This is Lake Erie we're talking about. Yeah, Ann, they're probably sharing a hut with Gilligan and the Skipper. What an incredibly stupid spokesmodel.
