Crewleader reporting in....after Hurricane Charley
It was wild with the high winds last night in Brevard County,we are east of the track of where Hurricane Charley went straight through Orlando.

We lost power at around the time Charley hit Orlando. The outer bands of wind was powerful, it then headed next towards Daytona Beach. We are lucky to have power back on.

My maple trees got some damage...the tree in front got a few heavy branches broken off but one of the maple trees in the backyard split in two and landed on the roof of my Florida Screen Room. It's really unbelievable the screen room did not collapsed but held up and only bended one frame.

But all and all, with a yard to clean up, we were very lucky compared to so many and still alot are out of power in this area.

Our hearts go out to the people in Charlotte County, the many who lost their lives and the devastation to the area. And our Florida friends who are affected, you all are in my prays!Bless You All!

And now to go clean up friends....:hi:

2. That's what I remember about the hurricanes I've been in
The clean-up is tremendous. But I remember neighbors all helped each other out, which was really great. Good luck.

5. Thank goodness!
 Crew and to your family - glad all is safe!

Florida is home to many people close to my heart, and my thoughts have been with them these past few days as they have endured Bonnie and Charley (maybe should have been named Clyde, because they worked as a team).

8. My daughter in Tavares...
outskirts of Orlando. She called a few times giving me details on how things were going. She saw lawn furniture fly off her neighbor's porch. She stayed at the center of her house sleeping on the floor. She slep through the whole thing. That's my daughter....she sleeps like a log.

12. Great to hear you are okay, Crew!
I have friends in the Tampa area and I haven't heard from them yet, I think they evacuated on Thursday.

Take care Crew, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of Charley in Florida (and Cuba) at this time of need.

16. Thanks Friends
The clean up is almost done but alot of my neighbors down the street still doesn't have power, we live in Northern Brevard where the strongest winds came through on the east track of Charley.

Our friends who live one street over their power pole snapped and FPL says three days to restore power to their homes in that area, so they drove up to Jacksonville to visit their parents. I was without power for a day, the nights are miserable to sleep in this humid weather.

Now our DU friends in Boston are getting the end of him...and now we watch where Earl is going, a wait and see...
and the hurricane season isn't over till November.

Desertrose, yes the piece that got bended can be fixed but the tree is gone...my squirrels will specially miss it, but they got the other in the backyard. Taking it easy today...muscles need the rest and feeling very grateful it wasn't worse like for many that are suffering with the destruction of Charley.

Thanks again friends, great seeing your names! :loveya: :hi:
