3. Tiger is through until he takes his former coach's advice, and stops
being so pissy when someone offers constructive criticism.

5. They can't "adjust the cut".
The top 70 and ties get in. The rest go home. There's no manipulation possible. Plus, Tiger made the cut by a stroke. The cut was +1 and he was even.

6. of course they can! The cut isn't an etched in stone number. If everyone
is shooting really poorly, the cut reflects it. If everyone is shooting a million below par, the cut reflects that too. It's kind of based on averages or medians or something that's too mathematical to worry my beautiful mind about. There's wiggle room in there. Sponsors want tiger, the public wants tiger, we all need tiger!

7. You don't know what you're talking about.
They take the top 70 players and ties. That is it. If Tiger had finished 71st, he'd be watching on TV. There's no averages, no math. The best 70 players play Saturday and Sunday.

8. amen
golf is probably the ONLY sport that is consistantly fair. every week. rules are etched in granite. period. no favorites. every golfer has to beat himself before he can beat anyone else.

no team efforts
no "help" from others
no favorites
it is as individual as any sport can be.

9. It's the most Darwinian of professional sports.
Miss the cut and you don't get paid.
