I just got a 1/2 bushel of sweet peppers roasted at market
There's this great seasonal market nearby called Heinie's Market. They roast chilies for you outdoors if you buy in quantity. So I got a 1/2 bushel of the sweet, thin skinned peppers that I call Italian Peppers and they roasted them for me. Bagged them up about 10 to a ziplock bag and will freeze them. No more expensive jars or cans of peppers and no work for me!

One thing I like to do with these is make pepper and scrambled egg sandwiches on kaiser rolls. Mmmmm.....mmmm!

1. I roasted peppers last weekend
I had tons of them on my pepper plants, which are 4.5 feet high. Used them on sandwiches and quesadillas this week. Yum!!

I love those outdoor markets like the one you mention. I just like strolling around and talking to the farmers. The only problem with being such an avid organic gardener like I am is that I have no need to go to the markets--just to my back yard.

8. I do remember those storms!
And the one in the 80s around Christmas time. We invited a crowd and I made a gigantic pan of lasagna and a baked ham and noone could get to our house! Me and hubby and food for an army.

Btw, I was born and raised in NYC (Woodhaven, Queens). I moved here in '76. So, we switched places!

7. You Should Try it Yourself at Home
a kitchen where fresh peppers have been roasted smells like heaven.

9. I was thinking of doing it on the grill outside.
They told me to come back in a few weeks when they have these smallish, sweet red peppers coming in. They're supposed to be great when roasted. I'll try roasting some inside. The air sure was fragrant when they had two roasters going. One with my sweet peppers and one with some major hot green chilies.
