I discovered the CRAP beer of all time!
Edited on Sun Aug-15-04 04:26 AM by UdoKier
at least I think so. Normally I drink Asahi Super Dry. Great taste, and a bit more alcohol than US beers. Today the store was all out, so I got...

Miller Lite :puke:

Oh. My. God. What wretched pisswater. No taste at all, and after drinking an entire six-pack in 2 1/2 hrs, I had NO BUZZ AT ALL. With Asahi, I usually stop after 3 or 4 with a very pleasant buzz.

Damn you Anheuser-Busch brewing. You are con men!

2. Obviously you were never one of the BoHo club!
Bohemian Club Beer...56 cents for a 32 ounce bottle, unscrew the cap and smell the nice sulphur aroma!
For desperate broke college students the last resort, even Meisterbrau was an improvement...I can speak from personal experience needing a beer on a Friday night!

3. There's some stuff they make in
Utica, NY, where Uncle Leo comes Leo, right, it's called Utica Club. Let's say that is an acquired taste, that beer. I don't know if they still make it, maybe they ran out of gas. lol

Coors light is pretty bad too!

13. Utica club!!!!
I grew up near there, I recall my Dad switched to utica club for a couple of years when my brother and I were teenagers and living at home. He never had any problem with any beer going "missing"........

5. Tecate made the slice of lime (or lemon)!
supposedly to mask the awful taste of the can...I can relate with that, Tecate is still considered "lower rung" beer here...

By the way Corona capitalized on the slice of lemon thing but their beer is truly water...

6. heh
That is the fun part of visiting the US: one can have that experience every night (or even several times each night.).

What I've never been able to understand is why even imported beer doesn't taste like it should. (even ignoring the wacky pseudo-imports, like St. Pauli Girl etc. ).

Is beer in America pasteurized at higher temperatures or something?

14. I used to like PBR
When I was broke, it was cheap. I think it is still around somewhere. I gave up beer drinking a couple of years ago so I haven't been keeping up with it.

11. Dutch
Not German. I think it can be very good from tap and in the Netherlands. Doesn't travel well, but still better than Heineken (IMHO).

Just smelling it reminded me of open trash cans left out in the sun. I can't believe they would make it at all. :puke:

It is made in Rochester, N.Y. and is the most peculiar beer I have ever tried. If you get the chance, don't!

18. The Texas version
is called "Texas Pride"....more like "Texas Piss". But, for broke college students, it's that or nothing.

Oh, Budweiser = Anheuser Busch

Miller = Miller Brewing Co.

Not that Bud Light is any improvement on Miller Lite...

back in the 70's. It was 25 cents on tap at the local bar. After the first 8 or so, you got past the taste. I actually got rather fond of it............

25. So many crap beers
so little time.

My vote is Joseph Huber or Fox Deluxe (coincidentally, both brewed by the Huber Brewing company). Nasty that. Miller Lite is abrosia compared to those.
