Stevie Ray Vaughan did an awesome cover of that song. It had a little less distortion than the Hendrix version but it was still excellent. He also did a great instrumental cover of Little Wing.

the 'spanish castle' was a big dance hall in his 'hood for decades...it was fakey spanish with a crenallated facade. it was torn down in the late 60s or early 70s i think. i remember ads for it.

'Golden Gardens' is a park on Puget Sound it is long , at the end of a road with a few hairpin turns, bounded on the east by BN tracks.

it has a long parking lot that has, for decades, filled up with guys and gals and muscle cars and cruisers and beer and holy herbals on warm summer evenings...mmmmmm
