Whimper. I have giant blisters on my hands!!!!
This is an official whine. I scraped up vinyl flooring and the adhesive underneath off a concrete subfloor for hours today. And sanded another floor. (We are staining the concrete subfloors, looks really nice..)

OW MY HANDS!!! Huge blisters!!!! Can hardly bend my fingers!

Ok whine over. What'd you do today?

3. Ouch!
That hurts. Sorry. BTW, what a great idea to stain the sub floors. We are getting ready to build and I wanted concrete floors in the worst way but they said our design would make it difficult without adding a lot of cost for supports but I never thought of just staying with the sub floors. Hmmm, I am going to ponder this. I love stained concrete.

5. They look REALLY nice
we just had to pull up carpet and tacking strips, sand where they got wall texture on the floor, then wet mop it, paint on the primer, roll on the stain, then roll on one or two coats of clear top coat. Looks fantastic.

All three of us have BAD allergies and wall to wall carpet is just not a good thing for us.

7. I have come to hate
carpet! We are moving from what used to be a rural area to my farm so I want everything to be easily sweepable and dirt colored but still look great. I love concrete, if we could afford it our house would be made of it. Good for you, it sounds ideal and beautiful.

9. You feel guilty because of my blisters??
Well that's proof you are a truly sweet man. I shall overcome, LOL!

Typing is getting out the stiffness. Home improvement is a BITCH but we are too cheap to pay someone to do it when we know how to. Urg. We're doing every floor in the house, eventually--ceramic tile in the bathrooms, that should be fun.

Hoping to have this all done by early October at the latest.

Why were you feeling sorry for yourself?

cause i'm a mope!

actually, i'm doing a sym job in my house. carpets & *many* cats don't work.

tiling the smaller rooms, layer of concrete over the subfloors of the rest. installing drains in each room leading to a 2nd septic tank so i can squeegee the floors.

using that industrial strength epoxy/urethane paint w/ the scattered flecks on the concrete. it's meant for garage floors, so shd hold up to cat-yak.

slow job, working alone on it, + each room has to be sealed off to keep cats out till the paint dries.

Not sure how I did it, either.

All I did today was laze around and unload the dishwasher.
