2. There was a book
in the early 70's called "Divine Right's Trip"... it had a lot to say about worms and what they eat. Hmmm. I wonder where my copy of the Whole Earth Catalog is...

3. Spam lasagne?
Ewwww. What do worms eat? I have to go look that up. I have always thought it would be cool to have a worm farm for the garden. Apparently they are pretty easy to do.

12. S'ok
I am one of those that often fall right into someone elses joke. It happens often enough that my closest friends do it on purpose and I do not get upset about it. I don't know why I am often so slow on the uptake but tis just one of those things. I get a good laugh out of it most of the time so don't worry, part of my oddity I guess and I really do like being odd.

26. I actually own 7.
Yes I am nuts, it just kind of happened. 2 are not with me and are for sale but I am picky where they go so it hasn't happened yet. You have no idea how hard that has been on my heart but they need to be where they can actually have a job, they are much happier when you work with them. I would love to see your picture with a llama. I worked at the zoo here for about 4 years and one of the ranges I worked had 6 llamas. I adored them. I told them the mean one was preggers and they did not believe me until she gave bith. I got my picture in the paper with her and they named her Llynne the Llama after me! They are amazing and sweet creatures. They went shortly after to a zoo in Japan, I cried for weeks!

It was a wonderful job, very hard and sometimes dangerous work but I loved it. I learned so much there.

33. hairs short now
too many confederates started wearing them. wore it in a french braid alot, but was too much trouble.

grew a chin stripe to compensate, but had to shave that for some "official" fotos. it's growing back now, & i'm regrowing my '80s rat-tail, just for fun.

just got my 1st tat, also. a kabuki mask on my left deltoid.

midlife crisis, i guess, but might as well have fun w/it.

i spook the fundies on my block. they're all sure i'm **!SAtAN!**

34. Good for you!
Being a teen in the late 60's and early 70's I have always, always loved long hair on men. French braids are beautiful but they are a pain in the ass I agree. My boys had rat tails when they were little. The oldest has really curly hair and I used to tie fishing weights to it to weigh it down but it always curled right back up, poor kid, he tried so hard.

Mid life crisis? Nah, you are just getting to the age where you just want to have fun and who cares what everyone else thinks anyway? I have had a blast getting older. Go for it. No tats for me although I have thought of it. I would really like to pierce my nose though.

38. Well now
that is interesting. Have you ever read Wade Davis? He is an ethnobiologist and wrote the book "The Serpent and the Rainbow". I believe that book was about voodoo. I have not read that one but I love his book "Shadows in the Sun". I do not know much about voodoo (you spelled it differently but I suspect it is the same, enlighten me if it is not). I do like learning about different cultures and religions. I researched and painted hexes on my barn if that counts. It was cool and I tried one of the incantations before my mare foaled.

It sounds like your tat would be one bad mofo tat or one to inspire. Are you an artisan?

my hands have been broken alot. just playing the with steel sculpture to see how it turns out.
there are various spellings for voodoo. most practitioners prefer "voudoux" or "voudon".

i'm an atheist, but am fascinated by that much maligned & misunderstood religion.

i'm amerind/french & i once did the fast for my totem. wasn't too surprising; bobcat.

i've promised to post a foto of the tat soon, i'll let you know when it's up, still a little scaley.

i might settle for a branded veve to "ougan ferraile", his aspect as smith & artisan. a simpler veve. in my bad old days i played w/steel alot. when i was in narcotics i didn't carry a pistol, even though most of the people i bought from did. figured i'd look less like a cop if i wasn't strapped. i always carried @ least 1 blade though.

EDIT: the rainbow snake is Danbala, most powerful of loas that deal w/ men. Gran Met, the creator, is more powerful, but usu unreachable.

24. Ahhhhh
*blush* I like you too. I take in anything that needs a home. All my cats showed up at my farm as tiny little lonely kittens. 2 came and I immediately went out and bought everything needed and they were instantly mine, one more the next day and one more after that. Litter mates, none of them have a tail longer than 3 or 4 inches and the vet thinks they might be part bobcat but I don't think they are large enough for that but they do kind of look like a bobcat. They were too friendly, not feral at all. I did catch a feral when I worked at the zoo and kept her, she tamed up pretty easily. She had been living at the dump. We always have a rescued dog among our 3, then all the horses, one aged and having many senior moments. Life is great with all my loves around. I will be the little old lady nobody lets their kids go near! Since those were always my favorite kinds of ladies I figure that is a good thing to aspire to.

40. Excuse me, wow, I guess
I was lurking, but that was fascinating. I must say, I really got "into" The Serpent and The Rainbow, I believe it, I do. We have definetly lost touch due to Western Civilization with old and indigent belief systems. And jukes, I should have put it together with all of your animal associations and friends, your black kitty looks just like my Bandit. Please light a voodoo candle of light for Kerry and all of us, and I'll light one out here too. Are you a Neville Brothers fan ?

One of these days I'll make it out that way, and another place I'd like to go is Chimayo, New Mexico - an old Indian healing area.

Take care.
