"People are too afraid to be seen with a Kerry button!!"
BTW -- I am that attractive blonde who comes up to you, introduces herself, smiles and says, "Kerry! Kerry! Kerry!"

Every time I see someone in a Kerry Tshirt or anti-Bush shirt, I come over and say hello. If I see a like bumpersticker, I give a big wave, a peace sign, and a "hooray!" If I see someone trying to get the vote out, I shake their hand, given them a hug, tell them they are a great American and that I am standing at their side, and am looking forward to a dance with them at the Inaugural Ball on Jan 21 2005.

But what I HEAR from some people who have these t-shirts, bumperstickers, etc, is that they are approached by people who say, "Like, Wow, you are so BRAVE to wear that here."

A guy I bought a "Regime Change in 2004" button from said, please don't be afraid to wear this.

I really was grateful when John Kerry called goons by their right names, when they disrupted his rallies. Bravo.

I had lived in FL 20 years when 2000 happened; I went toe to toe with goons; I had property vandalized; in Tallahassee, we protestors were taunted that *they* had brought guns with them.

Some months after, I was in a bookstore, and happened to pick up a book of photos of late 30's Germany -- of Brownshirts beating up Jews and Communists in the streets -- and it made me cry, because i thought, oh fuck, it *has* happened again.

Anyone think this hate is just going to dissipate someday? Hell no, not me. If THEY stay in power, we could kill a billion Muslims in a genocide (but don't take it personally, saith His Chimerpial Majesty) -- and THEN they would turn their hatred towards --- what? Moderate Republicans? Moderate Christians? Non-entrepreneurial Americans? I mean, *THEY* can find enemies anywhere.

I am now living in a BLUE state -- but still all this fear.

Fuck fear.

2. my Kerry button in on the strap of my purse
I used to leave the purse in the car a lot and just grab my wallet, now I carry it everywhere

I also have a Kerry sticker on the car and am adding a Kerry/Edwards one tomorrow

I came out of the chiropractors Friday and saw a Kerry sticker on a truck and stopped and put a note on the windshield complimenting his sticker and "Kerry On"

We have to let our flags fly high and not let the fascists scare us out of our constitutionally protected rights

Go Get EM!!

3. Seeing the signs
Even in our little WI town , about 2,000, am seeing JK buttons, yard signs and bumper stickers. It's a great sign. It's a hard rain's gunna fall.

5. One of the things I got out of this all was...
...I studied martial arts. LOVE it.

Purple belt now.

I have no intention to hurt anyone, but after being threatened regularly in 2000, I decided I would get pro-active and learn self-defence. I will not be an easy victim, like they hope we will be.

7. well, around here if the take the trouble to get out of their pickup...
its probably to come at you with thier shotgun, otherwise they will just try run you down and claim traffic accident, its all a bunch of passive-aggressive BS. they never say outright that they dissagree with you and would never (god forbid) go about it in a civil manner, showing thier dissagreement, that is. instead they resort to violence and ignorance. perhaps its all they know, im not going to speculate why they use brawn first.

6. I Encountered an Elderly Gentleman at the Bakery Outlet Store
the other day, wearing a Kerry button on his shirt. I checked out just after him and went over to his car. He had bought an entire pallet of older bread for the birds and was still loading it into his car. I complimented him on his button cautiously, since I can appear menacing at first glance. He eyed me warily until he realized that I was on the same side. As I helped him load the bread, I told him about my wish to see a lot more of those buttons. He said, 'you don't see many in this town,' and I agreed (we live in a red state). I told him as we parted, 'we're going to get * out of office, to which he replied, 'you bet we are!'

8. I got a new one the other day
a Kerry_ Edwards one, and a number of people were glad to see it and wanted one. That was encouraging. Even a guy we met from Michigan at an Arts Festival was glad to see it.

9. I wear mine all the time - get great response
I went to the People's Festival yesterday in Wilmington (great concert too). I had on my Kerry button and took my DU Axis of Evil sweatshirt.

I had folks coming up left and right to complement my attire and tell me how they'll be voting against Bush
