Dumb TV-CBS's opening at the PGA Championships yesterday

After all the run up and recap they cut to Jim Naantz and Lanny Wadkins inside the clubhouse at Whistling Straights Wisconsin.

The setting is right out of the textbook network golf coverage book.

Dark den-like room, lots of dark wood, comfortable chairs, bookshelves with old books, brick fireplace and huge mantel, a fire in the fireplace.....

1. Well...it did look pretty chilly earlier in the week.

This is Wisconsin after all. Nantz is from Houston, you know how wimpy we Texans are when it comes to cold. :D

2. Denver 4 cut away before the final putt in regulation to Broncos

preseason game. The arrogant color commentator told the hundreds of irate callers to the station to "get over it" because it's football season now and the Broncos are playing. They got one irate call from me to their recorder and I will talk to a live person today about it. The Broncos are horrible this year and the Bills exposed their weaknesses pretty effectively last night.

a preseason game? the second one?

Two years ago the Redskins were completely out of the running and the local TV station was going to show a game that was win or go home (no playoff berth). All holy hell was raised by 'Skins fans who like their ritual of going to early church service and coming home to the 1 PM REdskins game. The local Fox station relented and aired the irrelevant 'Skins- Arizona Cardinals game. :eyes:

4. After being innundated with irate calls

they showed the last hole of the playoff in a squeezed down box without audio. Still outrageous idiocy.
