1. Aisle
Certain ... round things are more likely to rub up against me.

I'm not a pervert! :P

36. I'll take the aisle, please
I like to be able to get out fast if needed. I was stuck in the window seat on both legs of my journey from Dallas to Pittsburgh last night and felt cramped. Middle is worse, though; you get shoved and sat upon from both sides!

2. Aisle... for fast egress! Unless...
I'm sitting on an exit row with the emergency exit over the wing... then I'll happily take a window seat.

Edited on Mon Aug-16-04 04:51 PM by DS1
while you guys flood and jam the middle aisle.

edit: more specifically, preferably nowhere near the plane of rotation of the jet fan blades, they break off now and then, this is a bad thing.

4. 6'3"
Asile is a must - window often curves over on your head, the middle give no room to roam - the asile is the only choice.

15. Very much!
get 'em when I can. I often travel with my 12 year old daughter though, and have found the exit rows are out. I frankly can't imagine how folks taller than me do it - the seats are curved for someone about 5'9", I think, so its not just leg room. Glad in the present incarnation of my life I travel less!

and long-legged. In coach, the aisle is a must.

In business class, I'll take window. If I'm stuck with center, I check for different flights.

5. depends
If it's a transatlantic flight, aisle. If it's domestic, window.

I hate climbing over people on long flights, and I like being able to see out on shorter flights.

32. Me three. Aisle all the way.
I never used to be claustrophobic in planes until I had to fly to two funeral in 2 months back in 2000. Since then, I can't stand to be in the middle or by the window. I also started to feel claustrophobic in the back seat of two-door cars. Yuck.

11. Aisle..................
I used to like the window seat, but by the time I got off the flight I'd have a stiff neck from twisting it trying to look out of those tiny portholes.

I'll take the aisle now, thank you. The center just SUCKS, I don't know why anyone would want to sit there.

12. you sure you really want to know ?
Occasionally I have sudden attacks of air sickness and threat of vomiting, so I need the aisle so I can make the mad dash as necessary!

I suppose my worst moment was on a full flight when an air marshall actually gave up his seat and squeezed in the middle so they could put me in the aisle. Those guys are huge, he must have been miserable. Halfway through the flight he gave up any pretense of being a normal passenger and went over by the flight attendants and just sat with them. I was embarrassed but too ill to do anything about it.

By that I mean the shade thing, not the actual window, cuase if that's OPEN, well there's a bigger issue than seat assignment going on.

21. I like the jump seat in the cockpit, but...
that's not really an option since 9/11. Second choice would be first class. It always looks great when I pass my way through to the cattle car section. Failing that, Ailse.

and even better - emergency exit row... leg room and the only place where I can guarantee no children next to me... safety regulations say they're not allowed to sit in that row.

26. I don't really have a favorite
If I'm flying alone, I usually take the window, because normally I don't have to get up to pee that often, and I like to sleep. But if I'm in the aisle, I don't mind too much. That being said, I'm usually in the middle, because I'm usually flying with my husband. I'm a tiny person, he is not, so I like to take the middle and give him the window or aisle.

29. I like having all three seats to myself, like on the
flight I took back from Chicago this past weekend. That way I can lie down and sleep (I can't sleep sitting up for some reason). I have had this happen numerous times and it's great - especially on an overnight flight.

Aisle
I'm so claustrophobic, I feel trapped when I'm by the window. Of course, I kind of hate flying anyway, but it's obviously the fastest way to get anywhere.

Hey, aren't you coming out to Seattle for Labor Day, Allen? :hi:

I've flown enough that window seats (albeit cool) have lost their allure to easy relief of one's bladder.

Does that make me old?

41. Window - Transit Mania
I've NEVER been able to sleep in transit. Even as an infant, I'm told. Folks drove all the way from Albany to Buffalo and back and never was out for even a wink. Took a red-eye flight once. Huge mistake.

I like to see where I'm going.
