Am I the only one...
Edited on Mon Aug-16-04 06:56 PM by tjwash
...that wasn't disappointed when the US mens basketball team got blown out by Puerto Rico yesterday? I didn't laugh about it, or anything, but it was actually a little fun to see these overpaid, cocky, crybabies get taken down a peg.

1. I didn't care either way
I still watch the Olympics and root for our athletes but I think that since pros were allowed to play, it tainted the games.

2. I refuse to root for any team that has Allen Iverson on it ...
nevermind a team that has Allen Iverson as its CAPTAIN! WTF is up with that?!?

3. I felt the same
I've never liked the NBA though. They don't seem to really care about the game or fans, only the $$$. Even if they do play as a representative for the US, I enjoyed seeing a team full of athletes full of themselves being taken down and humbled.

6. Sounds like Faith-based sports prognostication

I have severe doubts. No good, CONSISTENT outside shooters (Iverson 1 for 10), can't handle zones decently, don't seem to know how to play team basketball.

8. All that is true
What you put in your message anyway but I think they'll pull it together and win the Gold.

7. It was a lot more fun when the college players were our team.
I'm still angry over the fixed outcome of the '72 final. Our team refused to take the silver medals and none have to this day. Most of them have even left instructions to their descendants that they are never to accept a silver medal. One of the worst sports moments ever in Olympics history.
