7. 'Rebel Without a Cause'

No question about it. I can't get enough of the overt homogayness of the film.

10. "Giant" was a bloated, corny epic, and James Dean stole the entire show.

IMO, it's his best role -- utterly devoid of the Brando/Montgomery Clift mannerisms that plague "East of Eden," and to a lesser extent, "Rebel Without a Cause."

Jett Rink is a thoroughly original character, and makes the arc from backwater innocent to assholic multimullionaire oilman. He is the one truly "authentic," down-home Texas character in the movie, and when he's not onscreen, you wait anxiously for his return.

"Rebel" probably was Dean's best movie overall, but "Giant" gave him his best role.
