Cursed/Benighted Sports Franchises, that should be torched for
the insurance money, like the Polynesian restaurant in Goodfellas. We are talking serious futility.

I'll start.

The Washington Wizards.

the LA Clippers of the Eastern Conference. Abe really needs to sell the team

And I still the contest to rename the team was rigged. The Wizards? There were better choices/entries

7. What were some of the better entries, I no longer remember...
I bet Kornheiser misses the days when he could write "Les Boulez" in his column.

The Seattle Supersonics

The Seattle Seahawks

p.s. My Mariners are just in a bit of a slump. They'll get better. Well, they'll get better if the damn coach quits trading away our players!

Didn't they also have Detlef Schrempf or whoever? Never did anything?

21. The Atlanta Braves(choke)
I swear with the team in first place their fans don't even bother to show up:shrug: Besides how many pennats have they won and they only have one shitty WS crown and that crown was won right after the strike when no one gave a shit. I say we save Ted Turner the heartache and chuck for the insurance money. He sure as hell didn't get his money back on the investment.

12. The Mayberry Machiavellians...
Nobody in Mayberry understood their team's nickname, especially Deputy Fife and Aunt Bea...Plus they were perennial cellar dwellers in a league that included the Mt. Pilate Handwashers and the Raleigh Fingers.... :)

17. Hey leave the Pads alone.
They've sucked in the past but we in San Diego still love them.

Now there's a team that should annually trade all their draft picks before they waste them on no-talent, can't make it prospects.

19. The Golden State Warriors.
The Bay Area needs a REAL NBA team, and the Warriors ain't it.

And whoever had the bright idea of calling them the "Golden State" Warriors should be publicly humiliated and blacklisted from working in pro sports. It makes them sound like a second-rate state college team (although, granted, they're about as credible as one).

:P
