my married life burden
This weekend we were driving back from Montana and when we got to the bridge crossing the Clearwater river my wife asked, "Does the highway cross here?". I looked at her and said, "Not always, they move this bridge every few weeks so that other small communities along the river get a bridge".

Tonight its thundering, and raining like nobodies bizness and she wakes up and says, "log onto the weather site, I wanna check the weather".

1. If that's the worst you can come up with

consider yourself blessed.

Non-sequiters arent exactly verbal abuse.

Reconsideration: SO, she's a bit of a ding-bat and you're a smart-ass. What's the problem ?

3. actually she and I
had a good laugh about it, after it was all said and done we laughed about it for miles. Evidently that humor is lost on some here.

2. that doesn't sound very burdensome

Is your wife a crappy person? She *sounds* nice enough, if not occasionally silly

The second remark sounds like something someone half-awake would say. Why sweat the small stuff? Stay together for the kids at least!

4. oh we're very close
we "pick" on each other all the time. About kids well we tried and tried and now we're doing the adoption thing, on the list anyway.

6. Sounds like Burns & Allen
George Burns & Gracie Allen had great success with their act: the "ditzy" wife & the sarcastic, straight-man husband. They had a pretty good marriage, too.

7. Your wife sounds like my SO
But my SO's sister really takes the cake:

After a horrible family tragedy, she and her husband had been up for over 24 hours and a doctor prescribed some sleeping pills. Her husband had finally fallen asleep on a couch. She shook his shoulder and said, "Wake up, honey. Here's a sleeping pill."
