Man Wearing Tutu, Clown Shoes Dives In Pool At Olympics
Man Wearing Tutu, Clown Shoes Dives In Pool At Olympics

POSTED: 10:38 am EDT August 17, 2004

ATHENS, Greece -- A spectator took a dive at one of the Olympic pool events, and security is increasing.

Security around the diving complex is being stepped up following the bizarre incident when a half-dressed spectator climbed onto a board at the diving competition and jumped into the pool. The man was wearing a tutu and extra-large clown shoes.

An Olympics official said, "A man very much in love with his wife wanted to show it so he bought a ticket, came inside and chose to dive in the pool."

1. Yeah, well...
Everytime I have found myself in love, I know I could not kick the urge to make an utter ass of myself on International TV.

I thought everyone felt the same way? No? ;-)

2. What scores did the judges award him?
:silly:

Considering crowds have been less than spectacular it seems security would have noticed this guy long before his dive.

8. That logo *is* extremely well-painted.
Almost like it was a pro job. Hmm... I wonder.

10. If I was a security guard at the Olympics,
and someone walked in wearing that outfit, I think I'd make sure somebody was watching him closely all day.

11. Ugh.
Someone with that same URL painted on his chest (might have even been the same idiot) disrupted the figure skating World championships this spring -- he got out onto the ice and started stripping right when Michelle Kwan was about to skate. So much for increased security.

12. Someone did that at the Figure Skating World Championships
but I think it was an anti-Bush protest.
