did raise a fuss, supposedly in an effort to "protect the integrity of the music." I heard an interview w/ Arlo Guthrie who explained he wasn't overly concerned becasue the jib-jab version will quickly fade from the scene after the election thus posing no long term threat to the legacy of the original.
