What McGreevey did (hiring Cipel to a state job that he was completely unqualified) was incredibly stupid. But I find I'm losing more and more respect over Cipel.

I don't feel any need to defend McGreevy. It is not 1954 anymore. There is no good reason to marry a woman and live a lie.

4. My take? She was his cover, and she went along with it. His political

ambitions were too great to simply come out. Face it, he would not have won the goevrnor's office had he been openly gay. It's the same way with actors/actresses--they need cover or they wouldn't have careers. Sad, but true.
