8. It happens when you get to the thin end of the bloodlines.
Bob Taft, our (Republican) governor, and the shallow end of the infamous Taft gene pool, always looks like somebody just pulled their thumb out of his ass as they clicked the shutter. I think it has to do with all these 'American blueblood' families and problems with overbreeding for conformity and stature, rather than intellect and personality.
